In
most cases a permit is required from a DNR
Forestry Officer, your local fire department
or area fire warden to burn brush or other
vegetative materials. During the winter months,
a permit is not needed as long as there is
three-inches of continuous snow cover. Keep
in mind, MN DNR Forestry Division issues burning
bans in the spring until vegetation is green
and moist.
To
obtain a burning permit, contact your DNR
Forestry Officer. NOTE: The DNR Forestry Department
may delegate authority for the issuing of
burning permits to local fire wardens and
to some local fire departments.
If
your local
fire department or area fire warden
does not issue burning permits, and you live
