Can I call an inmate?
No. Only outgoing calls are allowed. We also
do not take messages for inmates unless
there is a family emergency.
You may leave avoicemail for the inmate
by calling 736-1083 and follow the prompts.
Phone calls made by the inmates are collect
or they may purchase a calling card from
canteen.
What can I bring an inmate?
No items may be brought in for inmates. We have canteen available through vending machines. The inmates may purchase food, writing materials and hygiene items. Cash may be deposited in a kiosk located in the Public Lobby of the jail. Mastercard and Visa may be used at the kiosk or online at www.inmatecanteen.com. Money orders may be mailed to inmates.
Can I write to an inmate?
Yes. Staff scans all mail coming into and
going out of the facility. The letter can
be addressed directly to an inmate using the
Detention Facility via US Postal Service address: 416 S. Mill St., Fergus Falls, MN 56537
When will the inmate go to court?
First appearances are scheduled through Court Administration. Please call them at 218-998-8420 for further information.
Do you take fingerprints for job applications,
adoptions, etc?
Yes, prints are done on Thursday – Sunday at a charge of $15. We strongly recommend that you call first to make sure there are no conflicts. Bring a photo ID, the fingerprint cards and cash (exact amount appreciated) or check with you..
How can I get a job at the Detention Facility?
Employment opportunities are posted in area
newspapers. Applications are accepted only
at that time. Any additional information may
be obtained from the Coordinator's
