Child
Care Licensing:
Family Daycare Licensing requires that a
provider complete orientation, licensing,
and re-licensing of family day-care and
group family day-care homes. Assists in
selection of and training for day-care providers.
Our
county is responsible to license and monitor
family daycare homes. The licensing process
includes signing an application form, a
criminal background study, letters from
references, a fire and safety check of the
home and discussion of the State licensing
guidelines and standards. A person must
be 18 years of age and residing in Otter
Tail County.
In
2000, there were 189 child care licensed
homes in Otter Tail County located in 21
communities.
