| At the first meeting in January, the Board of Commissioners elects a chair and a vice-chair who presides in the chair's absence. The Human Services Board meets two times per month and elects a chair and vice-chair at their first meeting in January as well. The agenda lists the items to be addressed by the Board and the specific time each item will be discussed. Speakers and topics are identified on the agenda. The agenda is generally completed Thursday before the meeting. Additional agenda items may be considered by the Chair at the beginning of each meeting. Citizens wishing to present comment or concern may contact the Coordinator's Office to be included on a specific agenda. Citizens are asked to be prepared and be considerate of time limits when presenting. All Public Hearings are listed as separate items of business on the agenda. Public Hearings are your opportunity to tell the board how you feel they should deal with an issue and why. Persons wishing to speak at a Public Hearing should state their name then, opinion or comment. Closed sessions are generally portions of meetings that are closed to the public. Closed sessions are held in regard to actual or threatened litigation, labor negotiation strategies, personnel related issues, or performance evaluations.
