How Will I Recognize a CodeRED Message? What Should I Do When I Receive It?

There are three types of CodeRED messages, each with its own Caller ID number:

Weather Warning: 800-566-9780

Emergency: 866-419-5000

General: 855-969-4639

We suggest you program these numbers into your telephone as a new "CodeRED" contact. When you receive a CodeRED message, listen carefully to the entire message and follow any instructions. You will have the option to repeat the message by pressing any key. Do not call 9-1-1 for further information unless you are directed to do so, or if you need immediate aid from the police, fire, or ambulance services.
