Accepted Materials in OTC

Aluminum Cans

  • Empty cans
  • Empty, dry paint cans are recyclable
  • Clean aluminum foil and pie plates are also acceptable

Corrugated Cardboard

  • Remove any packaging materials, flatten boxes
  • Brown paper bags may also be recycled along with cardboard
  • Shiny, greasy or waxy cardboard is NOT accepted
  • Do NOT mix paperboard or boxboard in with corrugated cardboard
  • Rinse
  • Dishes, glasses and window glass (excluding the frame) may also be recycled with bottles and jars
  • Light bulbs, automotive glass, and porcelain are not accepted


  • Do not recycle with corrugated cardboard
  • Waxy paperboard and cartons are not accepted


  • Accepted: Printer paper, notebook paper, white envelopes, newspaper, phone books, paperback and hardcover books, magazines, flyers. No need to remove staples or plastic film windows. 
  • Not Accepted: Tag Board or Poster Board, Construction paper, Fluorescent paper, Manilla Envelopes, and Shredded paper 


  • Rinse the container
  • Recycle plastic with #1-#7
  • Rigid plastic or plastic with no number is not accepted
  • Styrofoam is not accepted
Steel/Tin Cans
  • Empty cans, rinse thoroughly (leave lids attached when possible)
  • Label does not need to be removed
  • Empty, dry paint cans are also acceptable
